I decided to try my hand at this whole model-off-duty trend. In concept, I know it's just what models wear in-between and after shows and photoshoots. But they still manage to pull off something chic looking or downright cool. I'll confess that I tend to dress very dumpily behind-the-scenes. When I'm getting makeup put on (despite best efforts, makeup
will get onto your shirt!), sitting for hours, and getting my hair done, the first thing I think about is comfort and the last is fashion. So for this past SWAT-team photoshoot, I tried layering up my usual backstage outfit of Converse button-up top and jeans. It was definitely warmer (which was much needed that particular day of shooting. It was quite cold!), but honestly, all I could think was "
Great, now I have to wash three shirts instead of one..."I'm not completely settled with the outfit. As with my Argyle sweater outfit post, I like pieces and parts, but something is still lacking from the whole, I feel. Maybe it's the lack of the tell-tale crazy post-runway show/photoshoot hair and makeup. Hah! Ah well, you can't have a hit every time.
I'm still trying to figure out how to do outfit shoots outside. One of the major problems I'm running into is my very photo-sensitive eyesight. I always wear sunglasses outside, but let's face it, it's not all that interesting to be wearing Aviators for every shoot. Though I'm beginning to think squinty eyes aren't all the delightful either (and truly I don't have small eyes!)
Jacket: Forever 21 (surprisingly it is not faux leather, but real lambskin) Undershirt: Body Central Overshirt: Converse for Target Belt: Borrowed from friend Jeans: Express Boots: Borrowed from friend Bag: Borrowed from friend
I really like this after shoot look. Classic colors, unique patterns, and simple lines.
