Here comes the fun part.....the original price of the satchel I got was $240. The outlet store listed their retail price as $119. Then they happened to be having a 60% off original suggested retail price, so that brought it down to $96. (Which worked out almost perfectly, my budget was $100). I mentioned this rather excitedly to the sales associate who was ringing me up. He gently noted that, unfortunately, the final price would end up being just a little over $100 due to tax. All I said was, "Oh" and was about to take another breath to say my next thought when he smiled, "Hold on just a sec..." A few tickety-taps later and he beamed down at me, "How does $88 with tax sound?" My jaw just about hit the floor. I thought perhaps he took the sales tax or something, but there happened to be a $15 off coupon floating around the mall for Wilson's Leather. So he credited one to me. What wonderful customer service! So without further adieu, here's my new satchel...
(The only possible downside is that I wish the bag wasn't SO red-brown. I had originally wanted something a little more in the yellow-brown family to go with all my green, khaki, and ochre brown clothes. Ah well.)

ReplyDeleteIndeed, the problem of the camera bag...and what a great solution you've found. Perfect! I do have a padded, black proper camera bag that I dislike because it's bulky and unwieldy and advertises "carrying camera". Thus, I tend to wrap my camera in a silk scarf and then carry it in unsuitable bags that are either too big or too small. I think I need to take a lead from you.
ReplyDeleteRoz - Best of luck! It definitely helps. I'd also recommend making a inner case for the camera to actually sit in so it's protected (as well as not banging around). Like this ---> http://www.journeytomarvelous.com/blog/diy-camera-purse/
